DESCRIPTION:Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County (JFCS) will launch a new Dementia Caregiver Connection Group that will include a support group for the caregiver\, a separate activity for the family member with dementia\, and a lunch for all participants.  \nThe program will be held over four Thursdays beginning Sept. 6\, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Artis Senior Living\, Princeton. Cost is $50. \n“This program will provide caregivers\, also known as ‘invisible second patients\,’ with the support they so desperately need\,” said JFCS executive director Michelle Napell. “Caregivers of those with dementia are especially lacking in social contact and support. (No\, you don’t have to be Jewish to sing\, play and love Jewish music.) \nCome sing and play klezmer music\, Hebrew\, Yiddish and Ladino songs\, Hasidic tunes and synagogue songs (with a timely focus on Sukkot). It’s all great music and you will have a wonderful time in a warm and heymish (friendly and cozy) environment. \nWe invite everyone to participate\, regardless of vocal or instrumental level\, previous experience\, background or knowledge. Ages to 120 are welcome. If you are someone who is shy about singing or playing\, come anyway. We’ll make it work! \nKids should be accompanied by a responsible adult. DESCRIPTION:Older adults from throughout Essex County are invited to attend a special performance of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra featuring the works of Ludwig von Beethoven. The private concert is being sponsored by the Jewish Community Housing Corporation of Metropolitan New Jersey (JCHC) for its residents as well as adults ages 55+\, who are welcome to attend the performance at no charge with advance reservations.
