SUMMARY:EBUSY Jerusalem Replica Lego Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Please join East Brunswick USY (“EBUSY”) at 511 Ryders Lane\, East Brunswick\, NJ\, on December 16th\, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for a Building Blocks Workshop where over 70\,000 legos will be used to make a scale model of Jerusalem that will be 20 by 32 feet! This amazing and exciting program will be for Kadimaniks (grades 6 – 8) and USYers (grades 9-12). This event is open to all of Hagalil and we are hoping for an amazing turn out of USYers and Kadimaniks. All proceeds from this event go to Tikkun Olam\, USY’s “repairing the world” fund. The money raised for the Tikkun Olam fund partially goes to USY for scholarships so teens can enjoy USY/Kadima events. The rest of the money is allocated out to Jewish and Israeli organizations that help the hungry\, the poor\, and the uneducated\, to promote Holocaust awareness\, to support IDF troops\, to raise awareness and support for Israel\, and so much more. It takes a lot of kids to help build Jerusalem and we would love to have you be a part of this event! \nEvent cost is $20 per participant\, deadline to RSVP to the EBJC office no later than November 18. Sponsors for this event\, can send a check to EBJC with “Lego” in the memo line\, or they can donate here: bit.ly/2RjjDlJ or call 732-257-7070 for more information.

SUMMARY:Yom HaShoah: Holocaust Memorial Day
DESCRIPTION:Commemoration Service and Program\nIncluding Memorial Prayers\, Readings and Shoah Candle Lighting \nThe Next Generation Telling the Story\nFeaturing Mimi Werbler \nMimi Werbler is Second Vice President of the Board of the Center for Holocaust\, Human Rights and Genocide Education (Chhange) at Brookdale Community College. As the daughter and daughter-in-law of local Holocaust survivors\, she feels compelled to carry on their legacy and message of “Never Forget—Never Again.” \nMimi was a founding member of Chhange’s The Generations: Descendants of Holocaust Survivors group. In response to the declining number of living survivors who can tell their stories in schools and public programs\, and numerous requests by schools for survivor testimonies\, Mimi has prepared her parents’ histories so that she can relate them and perpetuate the power of their stories. \nMimi will tell her mother’s story\, talk about why she\, as a Second Generation daughter of Holocaust survivors\, has chosen to relate their stories and describe how she learned to do so. \nIf you have a personal connection to the Shoah and would like to participate in this program\, please contact the TJC office at info@thejewishcenter.org. \nThis program is open to the public and we welcome teens and adults to join us.

SUMMARY:Junior Congregation
DESCRIPTION:Junior Congregation services are designed to afford our children the opportunity to participate and lead an abbreviated Shabbat Service geared to their level. It is the ideal vehicle to prepare the child for his / her Bar / Bat Mitzvah and is a necessary part of their Jewish education. \nOur goal is to familiarize the children with the process so they will become comfortable in the main sanctuary leading to a meaningful bar/bat mitzvah service and beyond. We are also encouraging students to attend all services!
