DESCRIPTION:Friendship Circle of Central Jersey\, a non-profit helping children and young adults with special needs\, will hold its annual Walk4Friends fundraiser virtually this year on Sunday\, June 14\, at noon.  \nParticipants can register at walk4friends.com. Upon registration\, participants will have the opportunity to receive a T-shirt and a family fun pack that includes activities to do on the day of the walk. \nThe event will include pre-walk entertainment. At 1 p.m. families will be encouraged to take a 5K walk\, run\, or bike ride; take photographs; and upload them to Friendship Circle’s Facebook page using the hashtag #Walk4Friends2.0.

DESCRIPTION:JCC MetroWest will hold its inaugural MetroWest Mensches\, an evening to honor inspiring men in the local community — virtually — on Wednesday\, May 13\, at 7 p.m. via Zoom. \nThe MetroWest Mensches are Eddie Hernandez\, Lawrence Rein\, and Stanley Shapiro\, Ph.D. A Zoom link will be provided at a later date.\nHernandez\, an East Hanover resident\, is a security guard at the JCC in West Orange following a 25-year career in law enforcement and retiring as a detective with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. \nRein\, who lives in West Orange\, is treasurer of the Jewish Service for the Developmentally Disabled (JSDD); chair of the development committee at JCC MetroWest; a board member of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest\, Congregation AABJ&D\, West Orange Mikvah\, Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy\, and Keren Ness Foundation; and chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ’s Synagogue Liaison Committee. \nShapiro\, a Livingston resident\, retired in 2007 from Johnson and Johnson as vice president of science and technology.
