Beth Shalom in Livingston has new religious school director

Miriam Loew, Temple Beth Shalom of Livingston’s new director of education, brings more than 20 years of experience in Jewish education and community building across Europe, Canada, and the United States.

Ms. Loew who is from Vienna, has dedicated her career to creating engaging, inclusive, and joyful Jewish learning experiences for children and families. Most recently, she was Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael’s director of education and lifelong learning and led its religious school.

“I believe that Jewish learning should be joyful, meaningful, and deeply relevant to our lives today,” Ms. Loew said. “Our classrooms should be places where children are excited to learn, ask questions, and feel a real sense of belonging. My goal is to foster a school community that thrives on a foundation of warmth, safety, inclusion, and care.”

As the mother of six, Ms. Loew brings her professional experience and knows of the challenges and joys of raising Jewish children today. “I approach Jewish education not only as an educator, but also as a parent who has walked this path,” she said. “I understand the importance of nurturing identity, connection, and joy at every stage of a child’s development.”

Registration for TBS’s religious school is open. The school serves students from kindergarten through 7th grade, with continued opportunities for 8th grade and beyond. The curriculum is interactive and engaging, designed to foster a lifelong connection to Jewish life, values, and community.
