Chamber music in Westfield on Sunday afternoons

Mostly Music offers a series of chamber music concerts this spring on Sundays at 3:30 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El in Westfield.

On March 22, violinists Ani Kavafian and Clara Neubauer, violists Paul Neubauer and Samuel Rosenthal, and cellist Dmitri Atapine will present two masterpieces: Mozart’s String Quintet in C Major and Brahms’s String Quintet in F Major, with Ravel’s poignant Kaddish for viola and string quartet offering a moment of reflection.

The season continues on April 19 with flutist Tara Helen O’Connor, violinist Daniel Phillips, violist Paul Neubauer, and cellist Peter Wiley performing Mozart, Bartok, Reger, Haydn and the East Coast premiere of iPod variations for flute, violin, and electronics by rising composer Kian Ravaei.

The season concludes on May 3 with Haydn’s elegant Piano Trio in C Major, Ravel’s jazzy Violin Sonata No. 2, Kreisler’s nostalgic Miniatures adapted for cello and piano, and Arensky’s dramatic and passionate Piano Trio No. 1 performed by pianist Roman Rabinovich, violinist Oliver Neubauer, and New York Philharmonic’s principal cellist and former Mostly Music artistic director Carter Brey.
