Ancient Jewish graffiti

A lecture, “Jewish Graffiti in the Ancient World,” will be presented by archeologist and Brooklyn College Professor Karen Stern at Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson at 11:15 a.m.

Stern, author of “Writing on the Wall: Graffiti and the Forgotten Jews of Antiquity,” will discuss her recent discoveries of tomb, theater, and synagogue inscriptions that provide intriguing insights into Jewish life under Roman domination.

This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
