Free Pet First Aid and CPR Seminar

October 2, 2018 , 7:00 pm

Free

American Animal Hospital announces a free Pet First Aid and CPR seminar on Tuesday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at the Randolph Library located at 28 Calais Road in Randolph, N.J.

Learning how to properly administer first aid techniques can help save a pet’s life. Practice and preparation are the most effective ways to stay calm in an emergency and administer the proper care until a pet receives veterinary treatment.

The seminar, focusing on dogs and cats, will cover:  basic first aid for common medical problems and life-saving techniques in emergencies; how to prevent, recognize and stabilize your pet until you can get to a veterinarian; critical signs of distress that mean a pet needs a vet immediately; response for poisoning, choking, vomiting and allergic reactions; CPR and rescue breathing; wound care and bandaging; and much more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win door prizes donated by American Animal Hospital.

Christine Stockmal, DVM, will be presenting the seminar.   Dr. Stockmal graduated from Michigan State University in 1988 and joined the American Animal Hospital in 1990.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Dr. Stockmal enjoys general practice because she can provide care for pets through all stages of life from puppy and kittenhood to senior care. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, reproductive work and oncology. Seating is limited. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the Randolph Library at 973-895-3556 or visiting www.randolphnj.org/library.
