Jewish Farmers of Hunterdon County
September 23, 2018 , 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
FreeThe Jewish Agricultural Society in 1907 bought 17 farms in the rich soil of Hunterdon County, several of which were bought by farm graduates trained in Connecticut. After the First World War, the Jewish Agricultural Society referred its applicants to chicken farming for its obvious advantages: small start-up costs; less strenuous activity; nearby markets. Come hear Arthur Finkle give a presentation about the deep-rooted history of Jewish farmers in Hunterdon County.
