Jews of Cochin

In conjunction with its current exhibit, “Jews of India: The History and Practices of the Bene Israel, Cochin, and Baghdadi Jews,” the Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County in Freehold will present a talk by Gila Mordecai Rosenblatt, “Jews of Cochin,” 2-4 p.m.

Born in Cochin, South India, and now living in Monmouth County, Rosenblatt will discuss the history of the Cochin Jewish community, which dates back some 2,000 years.

Funding has been made possible in part by a general operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a Division of the Department of State, through grant funds administered by the Monmouth County Historical Commission.
