Lecture/music program

$12 – $15Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County in Freehold will present a two-part lecture/music program featuring Dr. David Brahinsky and the Roosevelt String Band, “The Concept of the Chosen People.”
At 1 p.m., Brahinsky will discuss how Jewish thinkers, philosophers, rabbis, and political leaders from ancient to modern times have interpreted the idea that the Jewish people are a chosen people. At 2:30, the Roosevelt String Band will present a “Tribute to Leonard Cohen.”
Brahinsky, founder of the Roosevelt String Band, is a Professor of Philosophy and Comparative Religion at Bucks County Community College.
Admission to both programs is $15, $12 members. Funding has been made possible in part by a general operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a Division of the Department of State, through grant funds administered by the Monmouth County Historical Commission.
