Meet the author

Mary Morris, author of “Gateway to the Moon,” will speak as part of a Meet the Author series at Congregation Torat El, Oakhurst, at 11 a.m. A light brunch will be served.

Morris’ novel centers on a descendant of Jews from 15th-century Spain, Miguel Torres, living in 20th-century New Mexico, who discovers his roots.

A professor of creative writing, Morris received the Rome Prize for Literature and the Anisfield-Wolf Award for Fiction. She will sign books purchased for $20 at the temple.
