Mendelssohn’s circle

Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County, Freehold, will present pianist Alan Mallach in a two-part talk/concert program, “Felix Mendelssohn and his Circle,” at 1 p.m.

A pre-concert talk at 1 will explore the relationship of Mendelssohn and his friends and colleagues like Ferdinand Hiller and Ignaz Moscheles to Judaism, and its connection to their careers as prominent musicians.

At 2, Mallach will play selected works by Mendelssohn, Hiller, Moscheles, and others from their circle.

Funding has been made possible in part by a general operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a Division of the Department of State, through grant funds administered by the Monmouth County Historical Commission.
