Rescuing Jewish children

Dr. Erwin Tepper will present “50 Children: The Rescue Mission of Mrs. and Mrs. Kraus” at Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County, Freehold, at 2 p.m.

Tepper, a Monmouth County resident, was one of the 50 Jewish children who in 1939 were rescued from Europe by a philanthropic organization, Beth Sholom, and Philadelphia attorney Gilbert Kraus and his wife Eleanor, and brought to the United States.

This program is made possible in part by the Monmouth County Historical Commission through funding from the New Jersey Historical Commission of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
