“Sparking the Minds Series: Fact vs. Fiction in Historical Musicals”

JCC of Central New Jersey, Scotch Plains, 11:15 a.m. A continuation of Prof. John Kenrick’s four-part class in which he explores how stage and screen musicals have radically reshaped stories based on real-life events, featuring “Yankee Doodle Dandy” today and “The Jolson Story” on Oct. 22. Cost is $8, $4.50 seniors, free for members; $6.50 for lunch.
