Jacob Bergman

Jacob Bergman, 88, of Rockville, Md., died Jan. 5, 2014. He lived most of his life in Scotch Plains before moving to Rockville in 2011.

Mr. Bergman had a long career as an accountant.

He was a World War II Army veteran, awarded two Purple Hearts.

After retiring he volunteered in an adult literacy program teaching English and math.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughter, Carol; his son, Danny (K.C.); and four grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 7 at Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison.
