JFSCNJ packs goods for Tomchei Shabbos 

Community members from Elizabeth, Hillside, and Springfield gathered at the Y of Union County/JEC to load Rosh Hashanah packages with holiday food items for Tomchei Shabbos.

Spearheaded by community leaders Bracha Schechter, Ora Sheinson, and Tara Speyer, Tomchei Shabbos offers bimonthly Shabbat and supplemental food packages during the Jewish holidays, under the auspices of the Jewish Family Service of Central NJ’s Charlotte Shak Kosher Food Pantry.

Benjamin Zainetz, senior manager of food programs for New York’s Met Council, sponsored many of the food items as part of its High Holiday distribution program.
