About our columnists
It is really difficult to navigate through the pretentious verbiage of Rabbi Engelmayer and the first person proliferation of the experiences of Rabbi Boteach. While I have met and admire Rabbi Boteach, it is rather onerous to get through much of his self-serving articles. He is a good writer, but he needs to tone down the autobiographical references to make many of his points. Most of us have not had personal meetings in The Vatican.
As far as Rabbi Engelmayer is concerned, it really would have been nice if he gave more credit to President Trump for getting the hostages freed, instead of spending most of his article castigating the defects in the Trump deal. Just how would this Biblical savant gotten the hostages released?
On the positive side, I did enjoy Max Kleinman’s letter concerning Holocaust education. If one is to teach Holocaust education do it right. The Holocaust was a singular experience in history, not to be blended in with Islamophobia or other so called comparable experiences.
