Mildred Taksler

Mildred (Millie) Taksler, 96, of Monroe Township died May 1, 2020.

Mrs. Taksler was one of the first employees of the United Nations, where she worked as a proofreader and was one of only a dozen employees to be offered a lifetime contract. Her career also included time at the War Department, a detective agency, and in the New York public school system.

Predeceased by her husband, Arthur J., she is survived by two sons, Stephen (Sharon) and Alan (Barbara); four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Private services were held May 3 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Tara’s Starfish Foundation (TarasStarfishFdn.org).
