Mimouna celebration in Morristown

Temple B’nai Or in Morristown plans a joyful mimouna celebration to mark the end of Passover, with music, community, and sweet traditions. All are welcome on Sunday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., to the lively program for all ages.

Mimouna is a traditional festival that Moroccan Jews celebrate on the day after Passover, marking the return to eating leavened foods. Families open their homes to neighbors and friends and fill their kitchen tables with an abundance of delicious sweets symbolizing fertility, joy, success, health, and prosperity. At Temple B’nai Or’s mimouna celebration, there will be foods and Moroccan teas, traditional live music, dance, crafts, drumming, henna, shopping, and more, all while visitors can learn more about the shul’s welcoming community.
