A call for artists
Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ’s centennial year celebration will include “Community Connections,” a community-juried group art exhibition. Local artists are invited to submit creative works on the theme of “Community Connections” that will encourage, challenge, educate, and expand perspectives.
“Art is a catalyst for connection,” exhibit co-chairs Ann Schaffer and Carrie Nussbaum said. “We are excited to learn about the people who make up our Greater MetroWest community and bring them together through this inclusive event.”
The exhibition is open to artists of all levels and ages, middle school to adult, who live in the Greater MetroWest NJ community (Morris, Essex, Sussex, Union, and parts of Somerset County) or work with one of JFEDGMW community partner agencies. All forms of visual art submissions are accepted until January 12, 2024; the exhibit will be open from March 14 to April 14 at the Heidi Gallery in Livingston.
The Iris family, in honor of the late Milly and Herb Iris, and Judy Targan are the Centennial Event sponsors. Centennial Diamond sponsors are the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ; Sally Gottesman, in honor of her parents Paula and the late Jerry Gottesman; the Mandelbaum and Goldberg family; UJA benefit concert supporting foundation of JCF, and the Wilf Family Foundations.
