Abe Schwartz, 92, of Union died Dec. 9, 2014. Born in Newark, he lived in Springfield for over 50 years before moving to Union two years ago.
Mr. Schwartz was the owner and operator of Shabe Advertising in South Orange for many years, retiring 20 years ago.
He attended Arts High School in Newark and earned a certificate in graphic arts from Pratt Institute.
A sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was involved in the Battle of Okinawa.
He was a member of Jewish War Veterans of Springfield and Temple Sha’arey Shalom of Springfield for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy (Burstein); two daughters, Barbara Schwartz (Jonathan November) of Gillette and Joanne (Hal) Parton of New York City; a sister, Beatrice Eidenbaum of Newark; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 10 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
