Adath Shalom exceeds Tu B’shvat tree goal

To celebrate Tu B’shvat and to support Israel through the Jewish National Fund, Congregation Adath Shalom in Morris Plains’ Israel engagement committee organized a drive last month. The goal was the raise enough money to plant 100 trees in Israel. The drive raised twice as much, through the overwhelming generosity of congregants and friends. The congregation planted 200 trees through the JNF.

The synagogue’s Israel engagement chair, Ken Malmud, said, “We sincerely hope that this project will lead our congregants to a deeper and lasting connection with our Israeli homeland.”
