Adath Shalom hosts half-time Havdalah
ADATH SHALOM SYNAGOGUE, Parsippany, will host its second annual half-time Havdalah celebration in honor of Jewish Disabilities Awareness Month on Saturday, Feb. 3, 5:15-8 p.m. Greater MetroWest community members with special needs are invited; the synagogue is fully accessible.
Lior Liebling, who has Down syndrome, will help lead Maariv and Havdalah. Liebling was featured in “Praying with Lior,” a 2008 documentary about his bar mitzvah preparation.
Following Havdalah, the Shabbat Shalem celebration will include an Italian dinner and activities such as cookie decorating, arts and crafts, and karaoke singing. There will also be an art show from the WAE Center.
The cost is $9 per person, with a family cap of $25; free for adults with special needs and their caregivers.
