Aid for typhoon victims

The Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ has launched an effort to raise funds for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which hit the Philippines Nov. 8, leaving widespread devastation in its wake.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Filipino people suffering from this terrible storm’s unimaginable destruction,” said federation president Lori Klinghoffer. “To assist in the recovery effort, we have opened an emergency relief mailbox to help the victims of this devastating typhoon, with 100 percent of funds raised going directly to the relief effort.

“I know our community will respond generously as we fulfill our mandate to provide humanitarian aid to those so desperately in need.”

The federation will work with its overseas partners to get the funds to victims in the Philippines.
