Alice Warech (Kaiser), 82, of Whippany died Jan. 27, 2020. Born in Hamburg, Germany, she and her parents immigrated to the United States in 1938, seeking refuge from the Nazi regime.
She was raised on a poultry farm in Vineland, moving to Carmel after her marriage and returning to Vineland, where she raised her children. She spent her final years in Whippany.
Mrs. Warech was a teacher in the Vineland public school system for 30 years before retiring in 2003.
She earned a B.A. in elementary education from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University).
A member of Beth Israel Congregation in Vineland, she was active in her school and community throughout her lifetime.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul; two sons, Michael and Gary; her daughter, Diane; daughters-in-law Susanne Reilly and Tracey Roberts; a sister, Ruth Rosenblum; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 30 with arrangements by Rone Funeral Home, Vineland. Memorial contributions may be made to Adath Shalom, Morris Plains.
