Allan T. Kovitz, 91, of Livingston died June 1, 2018. Born in Bayonne, he lived in Clark and then Cortland Manor, N.Y., before moving to Livingston in 2009.
Mr. Kovitz was a systems engineer for I.B.M. in New York City and at its Cranford facility. He also taught at Brooklyn Polytechnical and Stevens Institute of Technology.
He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue University while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his retirement he earned a law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.
Predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Selma (Frank), he is survived by two daughters, Elaine (David) Rosenwald and Beth (“Chuck”) Fields of Livingston; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held June 3 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
