An agency celebrates
We are writing to thank Robert Wiener and NJ Jewish News for their article concerning Jewish Family Service of MetroWest and its 150th anniversary year (“Family Service prepares to celebrate 150th anniversary,” July 1). We are so pleased to celebrate this milestone with the MetroWest community and look forward to a year of reflection, commemoration, and tribute to the agency, its leadership, and its services.
We are writing to acknowledge that the planning and development of this year-long celebration is being guided by a 90-plus member committee, many of whom are former JFS board members and other friends of the agency. This committee is led by cochairs Carol Marcus of Bloomingdale, a past president of JFS, and Sandra Rosenbaum of Short Hills, a long-standing board member and former officer. Subcommittee leadership includes Jean Rich of Morristown and Marcia Ripps of Bayonne, chairs of the history subcommittee; Linda Schultz of Short Hills and Jerry Harwood of Short Hills, chairs of the community forum subcommittee; and Thelma Florin of West Orange and Harvey Zeller of Caldwell, cochairs of the endowment fund-raising subcommittee.
Throughout the year, we look forward to educating the community on the many roles JFS has held, and continues to hold, in supporting the needs of Metro-
West families. Thank you, in advance, for joining us in this celebration.
