Anne Farber
Anne Horne Farber, 90, of Scotch Plains died Aug. 24, 2012. She was born in Elizabeth.
Mrs. Farber was a librarian at Union College in Cranford for more than 20 years.
She was a graduate of Battin High School and Douglass College. She held a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Rutgers University.
She and her husband were founding members of Temple Mekor Chaim in Linden. After the temple merged with Temple Beth El in Cranford, she and her husband remained active members, with her serving as a volunteer librarian. After retirement she pursued her avocation of bridge playing, earning masters points throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Len; two daughters, Florence Einhorn of Boston and Melissa Rosenbaum of Parsippany; two sons, Henry of Princeton and Fred of Falmouth, Maine; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 27 with arrangements by Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, Westfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bonnie Weiner Library Fund at Temple Beth El Mekor Chaim, 338 Walnut Ave., Cranford, NJ 07016.
