Anne Weiner
Anne Weiner, 82, a longtime resident of Long Branch, died June 10, 2014. She was born in New York City and raised her family in Long Branch before moving to Tinton Falls and then Ocean Township.
She graduated high school at age 16 and then attended City College.
Mrs. Weiner taught English as a second language and was a second-grade teacher at West End School before she took a first-grade position at the Margaret Vetter School in Eatontown, where she taught for over 35 years until her retirement in 1999. She began her teaching career in New York City.
She earned a masters degree in human development from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1981.
She was a longtime congregant of Congregation B’nai Shalom and then Temple Beth El.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Melvin; two daughters, Eileen (Ted) Buriani of West Long Branch and Sharon Weiner (Vincent Masi) of Long Branch; a twin sister, Laura Bolotsky of Scarsdale, NY, and a sister, Elaine Jacobson of New York City; and four grandchildren. Her sister Harriet Deck predeceased her on June 4.
Services were held June 13 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Association.
