Arnold Young

Arnold “Arny” Young, 87, of Clark died May 9, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Clark for 53 years.

In 1954, Mr. Young opened A&M Industrial Supply, which gradually expanded over 64 years from a Newark hardware store to operating nationally in the delivery of diversified products, services, safety, and business solutions.

He studied at Chaim Berlin Yeshiva, Tilden High School, and Brooklyn College. 

He was a member of Temple Beth O’r/Beth Torah in Clark for more than 50 years and played numerous leadership roles, including serving as president, head of the ritual committee, and contributing financially. He made many trips and missions to Israel and volunteered on its behalf.

He served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. 

He is survived by his wife, Myrna; his son, David (Monica) of Aberdeen; two daughters, Mindy (Dan) Cohen of Monroe Township and Alise (Ken) Panitch of Cherry Hill; and eight grandchildren. 

Services were held May 11 with arrangements by Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Temple Beth O’r/Beth Torah, or Make a Wish Foundation.
