Arthur Bergman
Arthur W. “Pop” Bergman, 89, of Roseland died May 7, 2018. Raised in the Bronx, he lived in Livingston for 36 years and then in Roseland for 20 years.
Mr. Bergman, a demolition contractor, was president of BC Enterprises Demolition Co. and a charter board member of National Association of Demolition Contractors. After his retirement he was a crossing guard in Livingston for 12 years.
He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, reaching the rank of first lieutenant.
He was an Eagle Scout of Troop 64 in the Bronx.
Predeceased by a son, Rusty, he is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Lee; his daughter, Allyson (John) Fryhoff; three sons, Mark (Betsy), Joe (Lisa), and Scott (Rachael); a brother, Kenneth; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held May 9 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to JCC MetroWest’s Margulies Senior Center or Special Needs Services, or ARC of Essex County.
