Audrey Sackin, 91, of Randolph died Feb. 1, 2020. Originally from Newark, she moved to Hillside after her marriage in 1946. She later moved to West Orange and then, for a short time, lived in Claremont, Calif., before returning to New Jersey to live for many years in Livingston. She retired to Tamarac, Fla., in 1980, and lived the last two years in Randolph.
Mrs. Sackin was a published poet who wrote children’s stories. She enjoyed cooking, word and jigsaw puzzles, and creating needlepoints. She and her husband also enjoyed searching the beaches of Sanibel, Fla., for seashells and transforming them into works of art.
Predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Albert (“Al”), in 2015, she is survived by three daughters, Judith (Gerald) Liebes, Rhony Alston, and Phyllis (Cyrus) Mackinney; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 4 with arrangements by Star of David Memorial Chapel, Tamarac. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
