Balance in the Mideast

NJJN’s editorial “Pence and sensibility” (Jan. 25) criticized the vice president’s speech at the Knesset and President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel as not being balanced.

Are we supposed to accept the Palestinian narrative of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem being a Palestinian temple? Should we let them claim a 5,000-year attachment to the land while stating the Jewish connection is all lies?

If that’s what it takes for America to have a balanced approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, then we need to review our values as a nation.
