Bernard Greenberg
Bernard Greenberg, 89, of Red Bank died Jan. 9, 2013. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he served in the Army during World War II and was honorably discharged as a sergeant with a certificate of merit accommodation.
Mr. Greenberg owned and operated a retail stationery store in Jersey City.
A member of the Knights of Pythias, he became chancellor commander and received the highest honor, Knight of the Golden Spur. He was an active member of Shady Oaks Condominium Board in Middletown, and organized the Men’s Club, later becoming president of the condominium association.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose; and his two sons, Harvey of Ocean and Jeff of Morristown.
Services were held Jan. 11 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
