Bernard Raymond Brill
Bernard Raymond Brill, 91, of Toms River died April 28, 2011. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he lived for most of his life in New York City and its suburbs and resided in Plainview, NY, before settling in Toms River over 20 years ago.
Mr. Brill was a CPA and a partner in the accounting firm of J.M. Levy Co., New York City.
During World War II, he was a sergeant with the Marines in the Pacific Theater.
He was active in the Greenbriar community, where he was a founder of the Tennis Club and a member of the Bridge, Current Events, and Men’s clubs, Yiddish Club “Honorable Menschen,” and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Congregation B’nai Israel in Toms River.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lillian; his son, Joseph of Lexington, Ky.; his daughter, Judith Levine of Princeton; a sister, Irene Levine of Queens; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 29 at Cong. B’nai Israel with arrangements by Belkoff Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation B’nai Israel, Van Dyke Hospice, or the JWV.
