Bernard Watter

Dr. Bernard C. Watter, 93, of Somerset died Sept. 13, 2012. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Linden for 82 years before moving to Somerset two years ago.

Dr. Watter maintained a private practice in Roselle for 51 years and was Emeritus Attending Dentist at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

He served as a dental surgeon in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II with the rank of captain.

He was a former member and past president of the Roselle-Roselle Park Rotary Club. A former member of Mt. Nebo Lodge, F&AM, he was a founding member of Temple Mekor Chayim in Linden and member of Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim in Cranford.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Berger); three sons, Neil, David, and Steven; a brother, Howard; and three grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 16 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
