Bert Shapiro
Bert Shapiro, 89, of Hanover Township died June 25, 2018. He was born and raised in Queens.
For most of his life, Mr. Shapiro led companies in the manufacturing and production of lace and women’s apparel. He entered the Navy after high school and graduated from Syracuse University in 1952.
After his retirement, he actively pursued watercolor painting and composing his memoir. He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marcia; four children, Lori (Jed), Carla, Sandy, and Mark (Lisa); and seven grandchildren.
Services were held June 27 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made for an award in his honor to Essex Watercolor Club, 7 Field Rd., Maplewood, N.J. 07040.
