Bris Avrohom holds 42nd dinner
Bris Avrohom’s 42nd dinner on November 7 is called “Hakaros Hatov,” to express gratitude and appreciation to all those who play key roles in the development of Bris Avrohom.
For Chanukah, Bris Avrohom displays 140 menorahs, many on Port Authority of New York/New Jersey’s sites. Twenty-eight million travelers on tunnels, bridges, airports, and bus terminals see them.
For their help, Bris Avrohom will honor Kevin O’Toole, Rick Cotton, and Clarelle DeGraffe with the Community Service award. Rabbi Kanelsky presented the honorees with tzedakah boxes at the Port Authority headquarters at the World Trade Center before the dinner. The boxes have three symbolic pictures — the Bris Avrohom logo, the Western Wall of Jerusalem, and the headquarters of Lubavitch-770 Eastern Parkway.
Levi and Rivki Kumer are the Young Leadership award recipients. There will be a tribute to Cecile Mosberg, z”l, to mark 80 years since the massacre in Babi Yar and to commemorate the Holocaust. Her life’s motto was “Remember the Holocaust — Never forgive, never forget.”
