Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky of Bris Avrohom gave the invocation at a recent session of the New Jersey State Senate. He reflected on the one-year anniversary of the pandemic and spoke about Passover, encouraging participants to continue doing good deeds.

Rabbi Kanelsky asked that the day be recognized as a day of education commemorating the observance of the birthday of the Lubavitcher rebbe, Menachem Schneerson. Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin presented the rabbi with a proclamation declaring 120 days of Education. Additionally, Rabbi Kanelsky distributed shmurah matzah to many senators’ aides for Pesach.
