Carl Weisenfeld
Carl G. Weisenfeld, 84, of Livingston died March 27, 2018. Born and raised in Passaic, he lived in Livingston for over 48 years.
Mr. Weisenfeld, who practiced law for more than 50 years, was a managing partner at Hannoch Weisman in Roseland and later a partner with Norris McLaughlin & Marcus in Bridgewater. He was a leading practitioner in the field of real property tax appeals and was involved with numerous landmark decisions in his area of law, including Feder v. City of Passaic, in which the taxpayer’s right to relief from discriminatory assessments was established.
A cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, he received an L.L.B. degree from Columbia Law School and an L.L.M. taxation degree from New York University School of Law. He was a member of the Essex County, New Jersey, and American Bar Associations and was active with the Dartmouth College Alumni Association.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; his son, David (Sandi) of Hopewell; and two grandchildren.
Services were held March 29 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association or Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston.
