Last weekend, the Catskills Borscht Belt Museum, “Vacationland! Catskills Resort Culture 1900-1980,” had its grand opening.
The inaugural pop-up exhibit, curated by Joanna Lehan in collaboration with the Bard Graduate Center, is a multimedia exploration of Borscht Belt history, comedy, and food, as well as its far-reaching impacts on America.
The museum, in the historic Home National Bank in Ellenville, N.Y., is open all summer, Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There’s also a Borscht Belt Fest in Ellenville planned for July 29. For information, go to www.borschtbeltfest.org.
