Cecelia Isaac Eisenberg
Cecelia Isaac Eisenberg, 92, of Elizabeth died Nov. 26, 2010. She was born in Elizabeth and was a longtime resident.
For many years Mrs. Eisenberg worked for Kelly Girls, managed several retail stores, and was a substitute teacher.
She graduated from Battin High School in Elizabeth and was an active member of the high school reunion committee. She attended High Point University, North Carolina and New York University.
She and her husband, Isidor K., were among the founders of Suburban Jewish Center, Linden. She was a charter member of the sisterhood of Suburban Jewish Center, a life member of Hadassah, and a member of Workmen’s Circle. The Isaac family were founders of B’nai Israel, Elizabeth, where she was confirmed in 1933.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Joan Eisenberg of New York City and Dorothy Holder of Cherry Hills, Colo., and two granddaughters.
Services were held Dec. 1 with arrangements by Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, Westfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah.
