Celebrating Israel
Thursday, May 12, is Yom Ha’atzmaut, and synagogues, day schools, and other organizations are holding festivities to mark Israel’s Independence Day. Among them are the following community celebrations:
Yom Ha’atzmaut at the Y
YM-YWHA of Union County, Union
Thursday, May 12, 5:30 p.m. (ceremonies begin at 6:30)
Featuring: Yom Hazikaron ceremony, musician Eitan Katz, Israeli songs and dancing, children’s stories and crafts with Israeli rishonim (young emissaries), and a performance by the Jewish Educational Center Choir
Kosher food will available for purchase.

Celebrate Israel Parade — Sight, Sound & Spirit

The Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ will form a contingent to march up Fifth Avenue in the annual celebration of the State of Israel.
