Chabad of West Orange supports Israeli soldiers at Chanukah
Chabad of West Orange, led by Rabbi Mendy and Altie Kasowitz, facilitated a Chanukah celebration and barbecue for Israeli soldiers stationed in the country’s north. It was made possible with a partnership with students of Yeshivas Tzirei Hashluchim in Tzfat.
The initiative was sparked by Rabbi Kasowitz’s nephew, Mordechai Muchnik, a student at the Tzfat yeshiva. When Mordechai reached out to his uncle with an opportunity to support the soldiers, Rabbi Kasowitz mobilized the West Orange community. Felix and Lina Kanchik generously sponsored the BBQ for Chanukah.
“We’re grateful to Felix and Lina Kanchik for their kindness and to our community for their enthusiasm,” Rabbi Kasowitz said. “It’s a privilege to support our brave soldiers and bring them a taste of home during Chanukah.”
