Charles Bender
Charles Bender, 86, of Monroe Township died Dec. 4, 2010. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided in West Orange before moving to Monroe Township 21 years ago.
Before his retirement in 1989, Mr. Bender was the deli manager at ShopRite in Millburn.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He was a member of B’nai B’rith and the Jewish Congregation of Concordia, Monroe.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice (Rosenberg); his son, Mark of Monroe; his daughter, Robin Bailin of Chapel Hill, NC; a sister, Vivian Levine of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 6 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
