Charles H. Cherna
Charles H. Cherna, 91, of Livingston died Sept. 1, 2011. Born and raised in New York City, he lived in Livingston for the past 31 years.
Mr. Cherna was a registered architect and founder of Oradell Construction Company, established in 1952. He was a longtime member of Garden Jewish Center of Flushing, NY, and Synagogue of the Suburban Torah Center, Livingston.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sylvia (Pressman); three sons, Marc, Jeffrey, and David; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 2 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Suburban Torah Center, American Friends of Magen David Adom, or St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, West Orange.
