Community care-giving
This letter is in response to the recent NJJN article, “Agency offers new level of at-home care” (Sept. 20). The Greater MetroWest area is fortunate to be rich in resources for people of all ages, particularly older adults. While this is a strength of our community, understanding where assistance and support can best be found can cause confusion for those accessing services.
Readers should understand that JVS MetroWest, through its Caregiving Companions program, has been providing non-medical, fee-for-service homecare in our MetroWest community since 2005. Our companions provide a wide range of services to ensure that our community’s older adults can stay in their homes independently and safely. We have served hundreds of individuals throughout the MetroWest area and we continue to receive accolades from our clients and their families who recognize the support provided through this high-quality program.
Over the years, JVS Caregiving Companions has worked collaboratively with MetroWest agencies as well as Jewish Family Service of Central NJ. We welcome JFS Central’s new expanded program and look forward to working with them to benefit the entire community.
