Conditional ‘love’
If Arabs are not allowed to sell land to Jews, why should Jews be allowed to sell land to Arabs? (“Local leaders slam rabbis’ ban on renting to non-Jews,” Dec. 16.) One is supposed to love one’s neighbor as one’s self only if your neighbor treats you with the same respect for you and who you are. Let the Arabs first recognize Israel’s right to exist and respect its citizens and Judaism.
The following quote is from a news item in Israel National News in 2009: “A Palestinian Authority military court on Tuesday sentenced a Hevron Arab to death by hanging for the crime of selling land to Jews in Judea and Samaria, the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency reported. The three-member judicial panel heard the case last week and handed down its verdict and conviction on Tuesday.”
