Daniel Lavigne

Daniel S. Lavigne of Monroe Township, formerly of Monmouth Beach and West Orange, died Feb. 17, 2015.

Mr. Lavigne worked as a salesman in the paint and sundry industries for over 50 years, receiving numerous honors, awards, and accolades. He was the past president of the NJ Paint Travellers Association. 

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and achieved the rank of sergeant. 

He served as commander of Essex County Jewish War Veterans. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice (Melon); his son, Larry (Benjie) of Bridgewater; two daughters, Vicki (Peter) Fife of Chatham and Tamara (David) Hoffman of Warren; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 19 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
