Daughters of Israel resident celebrates 100 years

Holocaust survivor Lisa Silbermann celebrated her 100th birthday on October 28 at the Daughters of Israel Senior Living in West Orange.

Ms. Silbermann and her family immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1940.  She and her husband, Eric z’l, a survivor of Dachau who participated in the D-Day Invasion, married in 1946, and raised a family in Bergen County. Along with two sons and daughters-in-law, Lisa has three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ron and Jodi Silbermann live in Randolph and are members of Congregation Adath Shalom in Morris Plains.
